Bowser And Blue

Bowser & Blue are George Bowser and Ricky Blue. They first teamed up in 1978 and spent a few years playing their beloved 60s folk rock music in Montreal pubs. Always inclined towards the musical comedy tradition, their show evolved in that direction and they hit the college and university circuit in 1984 with their comedy and music show. Students responded with enthusiasm, and the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities voted them Entertainer of the Year in 1985 and Best Comedy/Variety Act in both 1986 and 1991.

George Bowser was born in Sussex, England, and educated at Tonbridge and Oxford, where he read modern languages until departing to pursue his musical interests. His musical adventures included a band with guitarist Roger Hodgson, later of Supertramp and a stint with Katrina & the Waves. George immigrated to Canada in 1970, and played lead guitar with several Montreal bands before forming Bowser & Blue in 1978. Ricky Blue was born in Liverpool, England but raised in Maine, New Jersey and Toronto. He has an M.A. in English from Concordia University. Ricky has been involved in bands and media music in Montreal for over 30 years.
