Denny Christianson
In all the years Denny Christianson has lived in Montreal, the Illinois-born trumpeter has made his mark as a performer, arranger, composer, studio musician, bandleader and educator. Having gained all this experience, his big band has entered new territory with material, which is both refreshingly modern and yet firmly rooted in the big band tradition. Christianson gained invaluable experience in the studios of Los Angeles, recording with such greats as Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Smokey Robinson. He worked for several years on the Sammy Davis Jr. show with Bobby Bryant, Jon Faddis, "Sweets" Edison, J.J. Johnson, Kai Winding, Garnet Brown, Benny Carter, and others.
